Intellectual Property
Copeland Cook’s intellectual property attorneys work hard to protect our clients’ ideas, inventions, artistic works, trade secrets, branding, name, image and likeness, and other forms of intellectual property.
Registration and Protection
At every point from concept to completion, CCTB helps our clients develop, register, maintain, and protect their valuable intellectual property. For example, we help our clients:
- develop and select trade names and trademarks, then register and maintain those trade names and trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office;
- protect their original works of authorship by obtaining copyright registration from the United States Copyright Office;
- navigate copyright-ownership issues involving employers, employees, and independent contractors; and
- draft confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements to protect valuable trade secrets.
Litigation
When others fail to respect our clients’ intellectual property rights, CCTB’s intellectual property attorneys have experience vindicating those rights through litigation of matters such as trademark, copyright, and patent infringement, violation of the right of publicity (appropriation of name or likeness), and misappropriation of trade secrets.
